Nate Kinard is passionate about achieving his clients’ objectives in complex, high-stakes litigation and arbitration matters, including bet-the-company cases. He prides himself on developing cutting-edge arguments and solving seemingly intractable questions of law.
He regularly appears before arbitrators, judges, juries, and appellate courts, and also has successfully resolved cases using critical motions such as motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, and motions for JNOV. He has represented clients in appeals in Tennessee, Texas, the 6th Circuit, the 11th Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court, and in trial-level cases in state and federal courts all over the country.
Nate provides top-level risk management advice to general counsel for established businesses and startups, primarily regarding complex disputes over sales of goods, large construction projects, manufacturing and distribution contracts, intellectual property, and products liability.
After graduating summa cum laude from law school, Nate served as a law clerk for the Honorable Andrew Kleinfeld on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Nate is licensed and admitted to practice before Tennessee and Georgia courts. He is also licensed in Virginia.
