Profile
Louis Metcalfe counsels clients on a variety of health care matters and transactions. He regularly advises physicians and health care entities on business formation, contract negotiations with larger entities, sales, and acquisitions. In addition, he assists with day-to-day matters related to physician employment agreements and various transaction documents.
Louis seeks to provide clarity in a health care world that can seem overwhelmingly complex and frustrating. Clients, including physicians, hospital-based providers, billing companies, and nonprofits, rely on him for guidance related to various Tennessee and Georgia state laws and regulations, as well as those on the federal level which are constantly changing. Some of his latest work includes helping clients comply with the new surprise billing regulations under the No Surprises Act and helping clients draft and implement compliance programs that comply with OIG guidance. He also advises on emerging issues such as navigating CMS and HHS vaccine mandates.
In addition to advising on health law and mergers and acquisitions, Louis is a member of Chambliss Startup Group and counsels entrepreneurs, startups, and small businesses.
