Cathy Dorvil is a fearless litigator for health care and commercial clients across the U.S. Her previous careers in occupational therapy and health program management have given her a perspective that many health care litigators do not have. She can speak the language of her clients including medical providers, billing companies, Medicaid managed care organizations, insurance companies, and home health and community-based care organizations like mental health facilities, nursing homes, and hospices. Health care clients turn to Cathy for counsel on disputes related to fraud and abuse, Medicaid and Medicare enrollment and payment, vendor and billing contracts, credentialing, payment, personnel, and insurance.
Cathy is also an experienced commercial litigator, representing and defending various entities including billboard companies, educational institutions, municipal and government organizations, and nonprofits in complex contractual matters. She handles cases in administrative, state, and federal courts. She quickly gets up to speed in identifying risks and appropriate solutions in the clients' best interests. No matter what is at stake, she will provide her clients with an honest assessment of the cost/benefit analysis of litigation.
With government enforcement agencies placing a narrow focus on home health and community-based health organizations in 2020, she is taking all the necessary steps to protect her clients and will prepare and counsel them through investigations should they occur. She regularly speaks nationwide on fraud and abuse and other health care litigation topics and trends.
