Known for his practical approach, he helps organizations identify opportunities, manage risk, and navigate an increasingly complex employment law landscape.
Tim leads Chambliss’ construction and design group, where he combines his background in architecture with decades of legal experience to advise construction and development clients. He represents owners, contractors, subcontractors, architects, and engineers in matters involving contract negotiation and drafting, differing site conditions, change orders, defective design, lost efficiency claims, and other construction-related disputes. Known for his ability to understand both the legal and technical aspects of a project, Tim frequently helps clients resolve issues through mediation and arbitration, while also representing private and public organizations in local, state, and federal courts. His practical approach helps clients save time, control costs, and navigate complex projects with confidence.
Courtney counsels clients on a variety of business matters, including mergers and acquisitions, environmental compliance, commercial contracts, private securities offerings, and general business operations. She works closely with startups, early-stage businesses, nonprofits, and established companies on matters ranging from entity formation and contract negotiations to employment-related issues and raising capital. With a background in architecture and global sustainability, Courtney provides valuable insight on brownfield redevelopment, zoning, and environmental challenges affecting real estate projects. She also assists businesses with privacy and security matters, including the preparation of privacy policies and terms of use for websites and mobile applications.
With more than 15 years of experience, Jeffrey advises businesses and financial institutions on insolvency issues, commercial loan transactions, commercial litigation, and financing arrangements. His extensive knowledge of bankruptcy and creditors’ rights matters enables him to effectively represent creditors and debtors in restructurings, Chapter 11 business reorganizations, and related disputes. A respected advocate throughout the Southeast, Jeffrey also counsels clients on lender liability claims, shareholder disputes, internal investigations, and economic development initiatives. He regularly works with businesses, financial institutions, educational institutions, and public entities, helping clients navigate complex challenges, manage risk, and pursue opportunities for growth.
Kathleen counsels employers of all sizes on employment law matters ranging from day-to-day compliance issues to complex litigation. Her practice includes advising clients on discrimination and retaliation claims, employment agreements, medical leave and disability concerns, workplace investigations, restrictive covenants, and trade secret enforcement. She also works closely with educational institutions on Title IX and FERPA compliance. Kathleen represents clients in state and federal courts and before agencies such as the EEOC, Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission, and Bureau of Workers’ Compensation. Serving clients across industries including education, government, transportation, construction, and food and beverage, she provides timely, practical guidance to help employers navigate an evolving legal landscape.
