Jim chairs the firm's Business Section and is a member of the firm's Health Care Section. He focuses on working as a long term "partner" with business and health care clients addressing a wide range of issues. Over his 25 plus years of practice, Jim has developed a keen sense for the practical approach that stresses collaborative and tailored results.
He has advised a wide array of business clients ranging from those that furnish products and/or services on a commercial basis to those that on a charitable basis provide grants or public benefit services. He also has advised many healthcare related clients ranging from institutional providers such as mental health, hospice, and hospital providers to physician groups.
Among his many accomplishments, Jim has successfully guided clients in the resolution of complex governance issues, response to compliance concerns (including self-disclosure when appropriate), development of effective compliance plans and programs, implementation of effective privacy and security policies and procedures, re-structuring of organizations, the sale or purchase of assets, and development and negotiation of effective contracts.
