Profile
For over a decade, Daniel Cole has guided independent inventors, startups, college professors, industry professionals, and established businesses through the complexities of intellectual property law. As a registered patent attorney with a specialized focus on chemical and biochemical companies, he evaluates patent and trademark eligibility, drafts IP applications, and advocates for clients in both protecting their rights and defending against unjust infringement claims. Daniel provides personalized attention to each client's unique IP needs, delivering personalized, strategic counsel rooted in integrity, experience, and a deep understanding of each client’s goals. Whether working with large corporations or early-stage startups, he is passionate about providing dedicated, diligent service to protect clients’ justly acquired IP assets and help them secure new IP rights.
Prior to joining Chambliss, Daniel worked with a Fortune 500 chemical company in the adhesives department and supported startup and university clients in preparing and prosecuting U.S. provisional, PCT, and nonprovisional patent applications. His work spanned diverse technologies — from surgical devices and drone procedures to lignin nanoparticles and personalized medicine — and included drafting office action responses, conducting examiner interviews, and advising on prosecution strategies. His experience also extends to developing freedom to operate, noninfringement, and invalidity opinions for companies in the medical device and food industries. At Chambliss, he brings a practical, committed approach to protecting and advancing his clients’ IP assets, taking the time to provide a level of personal attention and care that’s not always found in legal practice — because for Daniel, his clients’ success is personal.
