Profile
Martha Taylor provides support for behavioral health hospitals in their involuntary commitment hearings. For over 10 years, she has assisted the litigation team with this work and helped guide clients through hundreds of cases, ensuring that patients receive care while their legal rights are respected. Though these cases can be difficult for all parties, Martha's extensive experience in this area helps our clients avoid the stress caused by uncertainty about the legal process. Chambliss is the primary firm for this work in East Tennessee, where our local clients serve patients throughout the tristate area – Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama. Martha has developed excellent relationships with the courts, psychiatric nurses, and hospital partners who appreciate her friendly availability, wealth of experience, and ability to solve problems or preempt them altogether.
She also is experienced in product liability and intellectual property matters. Prior to joining the firm, Martha spent over a decade assisting sole practitioners in federal workers' compensation and consumer bankruptcy cases.
