Mike St. Charles Honored With United Way 2021 Tocqueville Society Philanthropy Award
Chambliss’ immediate past president and managing shareholder, Mike St. Charles, and his wife, Judy St. Charles, were recently honored by United Way of Greater Chattanooga with the 2021 Tocqueville Society Philanthropy Award.
United Way has recognized individuals for their commitment to service and philanthropy for nearly two decades. This year, Mike and Judy were honored for their extensive service to various organizations in the greater Chattanooga area, including United Way of Greater Chattanooga, Signal Centers, Chambliss Center for Children, and Northside Neighborhood House.
In 2019, Mike served as United Way’s campaign chair and was instrumental in helping the organization reach its ambitious fundraising goals. He has also served in many other volunteer leadership roles, including their board of directors/governance board, executive committee, board chair, campaign chair, nominating committee, campaign cabinet, community investment committee chair, and finance committee. In addition, Mike actively serves numerous community organizations, including Greater Chattanooga Economic Partnership, Chattanooga Area of Commerce and Foundation, Citizens Savings and Loan Corporation, Legal Aid of East Tennessee, Meridian Trust and Investment Company, and Rotary Club of Chattanooga.
Our firm is proud of the work Mike and his wife, Judy, have done for our organization, countless nonprofits, and the greater community. Community service is at the core of who Chambliss is, and we’re fortunate to have servant leaders like Mike leading the way.
“[Mike and Judy] have centered their lives on making our community better … I am sure I speak for all of us in thanking him for representing our firm and the principles we all try to follow,” said Bill Aiken, one of Chambliss’ senior shareholders who recently celebrated his 45th anniversary with the firm.
