Chambliss Welcomes Experienced Corporate Attorney Morgan Ownbey
Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel, P.C. welcomes attorney Morgan Ownbey, who will support the firm’s business and mergers and acquisitions practice areas.

Morgan is a corporate attorney specializing in mergers and acquisitions, financial transactions, corporate restructuring, and commercial contracts. He advises middle-market businesses on asset and stock purchases, capital raises, and negotiations on essential agreements for buying, selling, and operating companies. Morgan frequently serves as outside general counsel, providing strategic guidance and supporting first-time sellers through transactions with private equity and other buyers.
Serving clients across the Southeast, Morgan leverages his business acumen to address industry-specific challenges in sectors such as industrial, construction, manufacturing, chemicals, transportation, logistics, and information technology. He has extensive experience advising privately owned middle-market businesses on succession planning, strategic exits, and capital raising, including venture-series financing and employee incentive pools.
Morgan is the board chairman for Trellis Horticultural Therapy Alliance and a member of the State Bar of Georgia. After earning his bachelor’s degree from Georgia College & State University, he graduated from the J.D. and MBA dual degree program at Georgia State University College of Law and the J. Mack Robinson College of Business. Morgan is licensed to practice in Georgia and will be practicing in Tennessee (Practice Pending Admission pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 7, Sec. 10.07).
