Chambliss Team Spends 2023 MLK Day of Service Serving the Chattanooga Area Food Bank and Chambliss Center for Children
In observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Chambliss team members partnered with two hardworking organizations in our community to assist with service projects and give back to the community. At the Chattanooga Area Food Bank, our team labeled and sorted over 4,000 canned food items which will be distributed to their food pantry locations. At the Chambliss Center for Children, our team helped with several painting projects and washed playground equipment.
Additionally, throughout the month of January, our employees are collecting items and donations for the HCS Teacher Supply Hub, which provides free school supplies for teachers in Hamilton County.
The Chattanooga Area Food Bank works toward eliminating hunger and promoting better nutrition by serving 20 counties in Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia. Working with retailers, manufacturers, farmers, buying alliances, and donors allows the Food Bank to distribute over 17 million pounds of food each year.
The Chambliss Center for Children cares for children and youth who have been removed from their families and placed in the custody of the State of Tennessee due to abuse, abandonment, or neglect. Their services and programs provide childcare, foster care, transitional living, and high-quality early childhood education, including five off-site programs in the Chattanooga community.
