New Tax Department Leadership for Chambliss Law
Ahead of the busy 2019 tax season, Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel, P.C is welcoming a new tax department manager, Rachel Ragghianti, CPA, who brings a decade of experience in tax preparation and audit services. Rachel will lead the tax team of CPAs, attorneys and paralegals in assisting clients with tax planning, preparation, and compliance.
“Rachel brings a solid background, range of experience, and detail-oriented approach to her work, which add additional depth and breadth to our tax team,” said Greg Willett, section chair.
As manager, Rachel will review and prepare tax filings for individuals, trusts, small businesses, and exempt organizations. She will be assisted by Sarah Johnson, CPA, who was recently promoted to assistant tax manager. The Chambliss tax department advises and counsels clients on various types of state, federal and international tax matters, including choice of business structure and tax compliance, state tax planning and representation before the IRS and other authorities.
Rachel’s tax and audit knowledge spans multiple industries, including financial institutions, not-for-profit entities, manufacturing, health care, education and various small businesses.
Before joining the law firm, Rachel was in public accounting for eight years at Mauldin & Jenkins, LLC where she provided a variety of audit and tax services for individuals and businesses. Prior to that, she served in the audit practice with KPMG Memphis.
Rachel holds a master of taxation from Florida Atlantic University and a master of accountancy, audit concentration, from the University of Tennessee. Outside of her work at Chambliss, Ms. Ragghianti serves on the Girls, Inc. of Chattanooga board of directors.
