Kirby Yost Named Chambliss Law’s Real Estate Chair
Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel, P.C. is pleased to announce shareholder Kirby Yost is the new section chair for the real estate practice group, which advises local, regional, and national clients on all aspects of commercial transactions and developments. Kirby follows Michael Stewart, who served as section chair for several years.
“Michael has led the firm’s real estate group through substantial growth over the last few years, and I have no doubt that Kirby will do the same,” said President and Managing Shareholder Mark Cunningham. “She is a natural leader and has a keen vision for the group. Her experience, client-focus, and drive to succeed position her well to take our services and client experience to the next level.”
Since joining Chambliss in 2011, Kirby has been an instrumental member of the real estate and business sections and has played a critical role in bringing on new business for the firm. She often assists owners and developers of all sizes on real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and financing, retail and office leasing, and advising on land use, zoning, and other real property matters. She also works with various regional and national businesses on general business matters.
“I am looking forward to serving the firm in this capacity, and it is a humbling and exciting job because of the talented team in this section,” said Kirby Yost. “We are focused on evolving as our clients do in this rapidly changing real estate market. With real-estate related businesses constantly expanding and shifting to serve the market demand, the future of our practice has so much potential in terms of how we meet our current clients’ needs and how we continue to partner with new clients.”
Kirby was recently recognized in the 2022 edition of the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America for her work in land use and zoning, real estate, and transportation law. Chatter Magazine and the Chattanooga Times Free Press also named her in their annual “20 Under 40” list for 2020, which recognizes rising professionals under the age of 40. Passionate about making a difference in the community, Kirby uses her free time to volunteer and serve on several boards and committees for nonprofit organizations. These organizations include: Little Miss Mag Early Learning Center, Boys and Girls Clubs of Chattanooga, Reflection Riding Arboretum and Nature Center, Creative Discovery Museum, Rotary Club of Chattanooga, the University of Tennessee Law Alumni Group, and the Tennessee Bar Association Public Education Committee and mentor program. She is also an active alumna of the Tennessee Bar Association Leadership Law Program and the Chattanooga Chamber’s Leadership Chattanooga.
Kirby graduated from the University of Tennessee summa cum laude and the University of Tennessee College of Law magna cum laude. She is also an active alumna of Chattanooga’s Baylor School.
