Gov. Bill Lee Extends Executive Order to April 28, 2021, Permitting Remote Notarization and Witnessing of Documents
Gov. Bill Lee signed Executive Order No. 79, which extends the ability to notarize and witness documents remotely. This extension means that the requirement of a notary or witness being in the same room as a signatory is still suspended. Instead, individuals may continue conducting notary and witness responsibilities through real-time audio and visual communication. The Governor extended remote executions in an effort to reduce exposure and spread of COVID-19. The Order took effect on February 27, 2021, and will remain in effect until April 28, 2021.
