Chambliss Client SwipeSum Completes $1.1M Capital Raise
SwipeSum, Inc., a rising fintech startup based in St. Louis, has completed a $1.1M funding round with assistance from Chambliss lawyers Willa Kalaidjian and Brad Davis. The funding was provided by telecommunications pioneer Jerry Kent at Cequel III, along with angel investors Larry Schiffer and Andy Love, and the Greenway Family Office. SwipeSum offers software-enabled services that find any business the best credit-card payments solution at the best rate, at no cost to them. SwipeSum plans to use the funds to further develop StAItment, its new AI-powered tool that analyzes credit card processing statements. Chambliss and SwipeSum began their partnership in 2016 when the firm helped form SwipeSum and guided it through its initial seed-round funding. Since then, Chambliss has continued to assist SwipeSum with its legal needs, including protecting its intellectual property and drafting the SAFE agreement (simple agreement for future equity) used to complete this most recent funding round.
Willa Kalaidjian is the chair of Chambliss’ Startup Group and counsels clients in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and other commercial transactions.
