Author of “How to Live Forever” to Keynote 2019 Embrace Aging Forum
Registration is now open for the Third Annual Embrace Aging Forum hosted by Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel, P.C., set for Aug. 22, 2019. The law firm’s estate planning and elder law section is pleased to announce award-winning social entrepreneur Marc Freedman as this year’s keynote speaker. Freeman will deliver an inspiring message of living well, vibrant communities, and healthy aging.
Freedman recently released his latest book “How to Live Forever,” which illustrates his 30-year quest to answer some of life’s most urgent questions. The book examines how people are living much longer and the meaning of those significant years after age 50.
In addition to Freedman’s keynote address, the Embrace Aging Forum will include a trends panel with industry professionals in public policy, housing and development, technology, and philanthropy. Breakout sessions will cover Medicare, long-term care, and disability benefits planning; nutrition and wellness; tidying up personal and financial assets; and how to have the conversation with loved ones about end of life wishes and preferences.
Attendees will also have ample time to network with exhibitors who represent a wide range of service providers in aging – from trust and financial service providers to living facilities to innovative tech companies. A new component this year is the Caregiver’s Corner, offering on-site benefits and resources for caregivers.
For the first time in United States history, there are more people over age 60 than under age 18. In response, service providers and organizations are changing how they deliver products and services to meet the needs of today’s aging population. Chambliss hosts the forum to connect boomers, older adults, and their caregivers to community resources and health care, wellness, financial, legal, and service providers in Chattanooga.
“Our community is stronger when we are all working together to help aging adults lead their best lives possible, and the Embrace Aging Forum connects generations and ignites important conversations on aging,” said Dana Perry, a Certified Elder Law Attorney at Chambliss Law. “Freedman’s message is energizing and inspiring, and we really want people to engage with him and his message in August. Connecting with resources that aid families and aging loved ones is an added bonus.”
The Third Annual Embrace Aging Forum will be held on Aug. 22, 2019, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Doubletree in downtown Chattanooga. The event welcomes individuals, families, caregivers, and professionals in aging. Valet parking, breakfast, and lunch are included in registration.
General admission is $50 with a reduced rate of $30 for adults age 55 and older. Tickets are limited. Registration and more information are available at www.embraceagingforum.com.
