Jim Exum practices in the Firm's Litigation and Risk Management Section. With an emphasis on Government/Municipal Litigation, Jim serves as the Administrative Hearing Officer for multiple, local municipalities. Further, he also represents a national police union working to protect the rights of first responders. Jim also practices in the field of domestic law in divorce and child custody matters.
Jim understands that the law is about relationships and achieving the best results for the client. Working to resolve differences early is often preferable to long term, protracted litigation. However, when litigation is necessary, Jim has the skills to represent his clients in court.
Often, Jim will present to industry and trade groups on topics of interest. He frequently lectures on the ethical use of social media in litigation.
Jim is active in his community and his church. He currently serves on the Signal Mountain Youth Baseball Association Board and as a Tennessee Achieves Mentor.
