Legal Aid of East Tennessee (LAET) recently inducted Chambliss attorney and former Tennessee Supreme Court Chief, Justice Muecke Barker, into its Chattanooga Pro Bono Hall of Fame. Since it was established in 2011, LAET has inducted only 16 Chattanooga-area attorneys into the Hall of Fame. Justice Barker's induction represents his long-lasting commitment to pro bono representation, consistent support of LAET, and effective advocacy for equal access to justice for all Tennesseans. Congratulations, to our colleague and dear friend Justice Barker!
Justice Barker has been an attorney with our firm for nearly a decade working in litigation, risk management, arbitration, and mediation. He started serving in the Tennessee Judicial System in 1983, when he was appointed by Governor Lamar Alexander to become Judge of the Circuit Court of the Eleventh Judicial District of Tennessee. He later was appointed to the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals and Tennessee Supreme Court. For more information about Justice Barker, click here.
