Nicole Osborne leads government relations, public policy, and economic development initiatives for Chambliss clients. She helps clients understand the who, what, why, and how of governments and governmental agencies.
With a strong background representing client interests before the Tennessee Legislature, Congress, and numerous local, state, and federal agencies, Nicole knows the importance of proactively developing strong relationships together with strategic public policy planning. For the past 10 years, she has monitored legislation and identified issues for numerous clients. She has particular experience with utilities, regulatory compliance, and identifying legislation affecting business practices. She assists with various government relations matters, such as drafting and negotiating legislation, educating clients on legislative processes and procedures, and managing PAC and fundraising programs.
Other past experience includes managing government and regulatory affairs for Tennessee American Water Company in Tennessee and Georgia. She developed and implemented legislative and regulatory efforts, led crisis management tasks, worked with the Tennessee Regulatory Authority, and spearheaded legislation to allow private water companies to have access to the State Revolving Loan Fund. Nicole also worked for the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council, the National Rifle Association-Institute for Legislative Action, U.S. Senator John Warner, and U.S. Senator George Allen.
