With an extensive trial and appellate practice, Hal North focuses on corporate litigation involving bankruptcy, creditor's rights, and a variety of construction and commercial disputes. He frequently advises on contracts and violations of agreements, as well as defending clients in high stakes litigation. Debtors and creditors, including banks and credit unions, turn to Hal for counsel under all chapters of the Bankruptcy Code. Industrial and business clients, institutions, and municipalities also turn to him for his experience on a diverse range of cases. With four decades of experience, Hal takes a practical and zealous approach to trial matters. He has taken on entities of all sizes and is not easily intimidated. Hal represents a broad spectrum of clients. He has devoted a substantial portion of his practice to municipal and governmental affairs and represents various municipalities including county governments. He has successfully defended the former mayor of the City of Chattanooga regarding a recall petition and successfully represented a Chattanooga councilman in an election dispute. He also is well known for his domestic relations work with families and individuals. He takes their cases very seriously and will guide them through difficult situations involving divorce, custody, and abuse.
