Chambliss is committed to working toward achieving equity and enhancing diversity in our workplace and within our community. We promote a culture of mutual respect and acceptance of others without biases based on differences of any kind. We define diversity as differences in life experiences, knowledge, inventiveness, innovation, self-expression, age, color, disability, ethnicity, family or marital status, gender identity or expression, language, national origin, physical and mental ability, political affiliation, race, religion, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, veteran status, and other characteristics that make our team members unique.

Did you know that Chambliss elected its first woman managing partner in 2009? Dana Perry served as managing shareholder until 2014. She was the first woman elected to this position in our firm, the only female to serve in this type of capacity within a mid-size law firm in Chattanooga, and stands alongside a small number of woman managing partners in the nation.

Our firm makes a conscious effort to foster an inclusive working environment to benefit employees and clients alike. We have formed a few groups of Chambliss team members to ensure inclusion and equity remain a continued focus.

  • The Diversity Committee has created and maintains a set of strong guidelines for diversity recruitment and retention, and promotes an environment of acceptance and support at the firm.
  • The Recruiting Committee is charged with hiring lawyers having diverse backgrounds and life experiences. We interview annually at minority job fairs in Chattanooga and throughout the Southeast, and conduct on-campus interviews at schools with significant minority enrollments. The firm is a member of the Diversity Section of the National Association for Law Placement (NALP).
  • The Women’s Career Development Group aims to enrich the lives of female professionals at all career levels through personal and professional development opportunities.
